Description

Calcium pantothenate,also known as vitamin B5,is easily soluble in water and glycerin,insoluble in alcohol,chloroform and ether.It is widely found in plants and animals including meat,vegetables,grains,legumes,egg and milk.

It is also a nutritional supplement.Mainly used in medicine,food additives and feed additives.It is an indispensable trace substance for human and animal to maintain normal physiology.In addition to special nutritious foods,the amount used should be below 1%(calculated as calcium).When milk powder is fortified,it is 10mg/100g;adding 0.02% to whisky can enhance flavor;adding 0.02% to honey can prevent crystallization in winter;it can buffer the bitterness of caffeine and saccharin.
