Application

1.Propylene glycol is unsaturated polyester,epoxy resin,polyurethane resin is one of the important raw materials, which account for about the amount of propylene glycol total consumption of about 45%, unsaturated polyester is used for surface coatings and reinforced plastics.

2.The viscosity and moisture absorption of propylene glycol are good and non-toxic, so it is widely used in food, medicine and cosmetic industry as moisture absorbent, antifreeze, lubricant and solvent.

3.In the food industry, propylene glycol and fatty acid reaction produce propylene glycol fatty acid ester,mainly used as food emulsifier; Propanediol is a good solvent for condiments and pigments.

4.Propylene glycol in pharmaceutical industry commonly used in manufacture of various types of ointment,gel solvent,softener and excipients,etc.

5.Propylene glycol and various spices have better solubility, which is also used as a solvent and cosmetics etc.

6.Propylene glycol is also used as a solvent for tobacco humidifying agents, mildew agents, lubricating oil for food processing equipment and food marking ink.
